Last year a case report was published by Dr Snijders in the "New England Journal of Medicine":
A 58-year-old man with a 10-year history of idiopathic Parkinson's disease presented with an incapacitating freezing of gait. However, the patient's ability to ride a bicycle was remarkably preserved.

Dr Snijders published the second case report in "Movement Disorders":
He presented a video case of a patient with longstanding PD and severe FOG, who showed a remarkably preserved ability to ride a bicycle.

In a new report presented in "The Lancet", he described The “bicycle sign” for atypical parkinsonism.

A new report confirms and expands a previous observation that cycling ability appears to be preserved in most patients with Parkinson's disease (PD), even those with severe freezing of gait.
The results were presented here at the Movement Disorders Society's 15th International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders.
