Q.1. Which of the following Stimulant preparation is FDA approved for 4 year old?
(a) Methylphenidate IR (Ritalin)
(b) Dextroamphetamine IR (Dexedrine)
(c) Mixed Amphetamine salts XR (Adderall XR)
(d) Dexmethylphenidate XR (Focalin XR)
(e) Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvnase)
Q.2. What is treatment of choice for ADHD with comorbid Tic disorder (after partial or no response with Stimulants)?
(a) Add Atypical antipsychotic
(b) Add Alpha agonist
(c) Add Haloperidol
(d) Add Pimozide

Answer: (b) Dextroamphetamine IR (Dexedrine).
Note: All longer acting stimulant preparations are FDA approved for kids >6 yr age.
Among short acting stimulants all are FDA approved for kids >6 yr, EXCEPT for Dextroamphetamine IR (Dexedrine) & Mixed Amphetamine salts IR (Adderall)- both are FDA approved for kids >3yr

Answer: (b) Add Alpha agonist
If no or partial response after alpha agonist is added --> add atypical antipsyhotics --> if still no or partial response ---> add haloperiol or pimozide
