Re: (Q.2): Drug of Abuse- Screening & Management: Benzodiazepine and Cannabinoids
ANSWER:
Q.2 (A) Which of the following Benzodiazepine will give FALSE NEGATIVE UDS for Benzodiazepine?
ANSWER: (f) c,d.
Lorazepam and Flunitrazepam causes False negative UDS for benzo.
Interestingly, Flunitrazepam is a commonly used date rape drug, so it should be tested separately (based on the clinical presentation).
Q.2 (B) Which of the following drugs will give FALSE POSITIVE UDS for Cannabinoids?
ANSWER: (d) All of the above
Riboflavin, Efavirenz and Promethazine causes false positive UDS for Cannabinoids.
So we should always ask & confirm the medication in patients.
I see many pt in Psychiatry Emergency with HIV, and they are on HAART regimen. so this is important point.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks
